Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2024 Phillips in London held the auction Evening & Day Editions, which included the work No. I, from Natural History Part I Mushrooms (B. 42) by Cy Twombly. It changed hands for a price of GBP 8,890.00 (€ 14,878.82) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 7,000.00 – 9,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cy Twombly achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (New York City) in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 70,530,000.00 (€ 66,777,125.54).
