Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by David Hockney achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in London in January this year. In the Evening & Day Editions auction, the work Lithograph of Water Made of Lines, a Green Wash, and a Light Blue Wash (T.G. 248, M.C.A.T. 205) sold for GBP 214,200.00 (€ 243,120.35) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 90,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Hockney achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nichols Canyon in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 41,067,500.00 (€ 33,579,313.16).
In der Auktion Evening & Day Editions wurde die Arbeit Lithograph of Water Made of Lines, a Green Wash, and a Light Blue Wash (T.G. 248, M.C.A.T. 205) für GBP 214.200,00 (€ 243.120,35) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 90.000,00.
