It achieved a price of GBP 40,640.00 (€ 68,017.48), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 35%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Hockney achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nichols Canyon in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 41,067,500.00 (€ 33,579,313.16).

Die Arbeit Pool Made with Paper and Blue Ink for Book, from Paper Pools (T.G. 269, M.C.A.T. 234) von David Hockney wurde im Januar 2024 in der Auktion Evening & Day Editions bei Phillips in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 40.640,00 (€ 68.017,48) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 35%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von David Hockney erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nichols Canyon im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 41.067.500,00 (€ 33.579.313,16).
