Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Emmanuel Taku achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in May last year. In the Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale auction, the work Purple Sisters Embrace sold for USD 126,000.00 (€ 117,416.83) - well above the upper estimate of USD 60,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Emmanuel Taku - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sisters in Lilac, which sold at auction in March last year for GBP 214,200.00 (€ 253,958.21).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Emmanuel Taku erzielte im Mai letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Purple Sisters Embrace für USD 126.000,00 (€ 117.416,83) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 60.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Emmanuel Taku mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Sisters in Lilac beobachtet, die im März letzten Jahres für GBP 214.200,00 (€ 253.958,21) versteigert wurde.
