Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Hedda Sterne achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in November 2021. In the Contemporary Day Auction auction, the work without title sold for USD 352,800.00 (€ 312,571.99) - well above the upper estimate of USD 150,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Hedda Sterne; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot New York VIII sold at auction in May last year with the realized price of USD 504,000.00 (€ 469,667.32).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Hedda Sterne erzielte im November 2021 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Day Auction wurde diese Arbeit ohne Titel für USD 352.800,00 (€ 312.571,99) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 150.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Hedda Sterne; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit New York VIII im Mai letzten Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 504.000,00 (€ 469.667,32).
