It achieved a price of USD 3,075,000.00 (€ 2,886,239.91), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 71%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Helen Frankenthaler - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Royal Fireworks, which sold at auction in June 2020 for USD 7,895,300.00 (€ 7,029,917.19).
