Auction result well in line with expectations
In May this year Bonhams held the auction Modern & Contemporary Prints & Multiples, which included the work Sirocco by Helen Frankenthaler. It changed hands for a price of USD 8,287.50 (€ 7,778.77) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 6,500.00 – 8,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Helen Frankenthaler achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Royal Fireworks in June 2020 with an auction result of USD 7,895,300.00 (€ 7,029,917.19).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion Modern & Contemporary Prints & Multiples durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sirocco von Helen Frankenthaler zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 8.287,50 (€ 7.778,77) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 6.500,00 – 8.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Helen Frankenthaler erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Royal Fireworks im Juni 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 7.895.300,00 (€ 7.029.917,19).
