A triptych showing the poet Sugawara no Michizane published in 1884, good impression colour and condition; and twenty-three Meiji period triptychs including senso-e, heroic tales and subjects from the kabuki theatre by such artist as Nobukazu, Kokunimasa, Yoshiiku, Toshikata, Kuniyaki, and others, generally in good condition (24)

The work Unknown by Kobayashi Kiyochika was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in May 2008. It achieved a price of EUR 2,500.00 exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 67 %. Admittedly, works by Kobayashi Kiyochika have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Fudo Myoo in September 2004 with an auction result of USD 28,680.00 (€ 23,097.37).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 67 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Unknown von Kobayashi Kiyochika kam im Mai 2008 bei Christies in Amsterdam zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von EUR 2.500,00 und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 67 %. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Kobayashi Kiyochika auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Fudo Myoo im September 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 28.680,00 (€ 23.097,37).
