Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Sphinx, from The Myth of Oedipus by Kurt Seligmann was sold in the Prints & Multiples featuring The Gilbert E. Kaplan Collection of Surrealist Prints auction at Christies in New York in November 2016. The price achieved of USD 1,875.00 (€ 1,772.55) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kurt Seligmann achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Witches in February 2015 with an auction result of GBP 173,000.00 (€ 238,541.31).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Sphinx, from The Myth of Oedipus von Kurt Seligmann wurde im November 2016 in der Auktion Prints & Multiples featuring The Gilbert E. Kaplan Collection of Surrealist Prints bei Christies in New York versteigert.
