In April 2019 Christies in New York held the auction Prints & Multiples, which included the work Phantom of the Past, from VVV Portfolio by Kurt Seligmann. The auction ended at the price of USD 3,000.00 (€ 2,678.33), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kurt Seligmann achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Witches in February 2015 with an auction result of GBP 173,000.00 (€ 238,541.31).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im April 2019 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Prints & Multiples durch, in der auch die Arbeit Phantom of the Past, from VVV Portfolio von Kurt Seligmann zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 3.000,00 (€ 2.678,33) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Kurt Seligmann erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Witches im Februar 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 173.000,00 (€ 238.541,31).
