Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Man Posing (H. 27, F. 44, T. 37) by Lucian Freud was sold in the Evening & Day Editions auction at Phillips in London in June this year. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 9,525.00 (€ 11,085.46), 19% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lucian Freud achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Large Interior, W11 (after Watteau) in November last year with an auction result of USD 86,265,000.00 (€ 83,565,823.89).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Man Posing (H. 27, F. 44, T. 37) von Lucian Freud wurde im Juni diesen Jahres in der Auktion Evening & Day Editions bei Phillips in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 9.525,00 (€ 11.085,46) und damit 19% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lucian Freud erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Large Interior, W11 (after Watteau) im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 86.265.000,00 (€ 83.565.823,89).
