This artwork by Man Ray achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in June this year. In the Prints and Multiples auction, the work Julie sold for GBP 1,280.00 (€ 1,489.70) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 700.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Man Ray achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Le Violon d'Ingres, 1924 in May last year with an auction result of USD 12,412,500.00 (€ 11,566,955.55).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 83 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Man Ray erzielte im Juni diesen Jahres bei Bonhams einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Prints and Multiples wurde die Arbeit Julie für GBP 1.280,00 (€ 1.489,70) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 700,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Man Ray erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Le Violon d'Ingres, 1924 im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 12.412.500,00 (€ 11.566.955,55).
