Auction result well in line with expectations
The work L.H.O.O.Q. by Marcel Duchamp was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in November 2019. The price achieved of USD 740,000.00 (€ 671,567.29) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 600,000.00 – 800,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Marcel Duchamp achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Belle haleine - Eau de voilette in February 2009 with an auction result of EUR 8,913,000.00.
