Auction result well in line with expectations
In May this year Christies in New York held the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale, which included the work Untitled (Multicolor Wing Butterfly White Background Dec. 31 666) by Mark Grotjahn. It changed hands for a price of USD 567,000.00 (€ 532,194.48) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 400,000.00 – 600,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mark Grotjahn achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (S III Released to France Face 43.14) in May 2017 with an auction result of USD 16,767,500.00 (€ 14,923,015.31).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Multicolor Wing Butterfly White Background Dec. 31 666) von Mark Grotjahn zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 567.000,00 (€ 532.194,48) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 400.000,00 – 600.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mark Grotjahn erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (S III Released to France Face 43.14) im Mai 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 16.767.500,00 (€ 14.923.015,31).
