Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Michael West could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in February 2007 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Art auction, the work Painting changed hands for USD 4,800.00 (€ 3,628.12) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Michael West achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 7 and 8 in May last year with an auction result of USD 176,400.00 (€ 164,383.56).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Michael West konnte im Februar 2007 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Contemporary Art wechselte die Arbeit Painting für USD 4.800,00 (€ 3.628,12) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Michael West erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit 7 and 8 im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 176.400,00 (€ 164.383,56).
