Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Nan Goldin achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in May this year. In the Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale auction, the work Nan and Brian in Bed, N.Y.C., 1983 sold for USD 63,000.00 (€ 59,132.72) - well above the upper estimate of USD 30,000.00. Admittedly, works by Nan Goldin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Thanksgiving in May 2002 with an auction result of USD 284,500.00 (€ 304,636.47).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Nan Goldin erzielte im Mai diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Nan and Brian in Bed, N.Y.C., 1983 für USD 63.000,00 (€ 59.132,72) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 30.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Nan Goldin auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Thanksgiving im Mai 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 284.500,00 (€ 304.636,47).
