Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May this year Christies in New York held the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale, which included the work Model for 'Terminal' by Richard Serra. Here, the upper estimate of USD 350,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 365,400.00 (€ 342,969.78). Admittedly, works by Richard Serra have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work L.A. Cone in May 2013 with an auction result of USD 4,267,750.00 (€ 3,285,917.77).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Model for 'Terminal' von Richard Serra zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 350.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 365.400,00 (€ 342.969,78) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Richard Serra auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit L.A. Cone im Mai 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 4.267.750,00 (€ 3.285.917,77).
