Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Robert Motherwell could be acquired at Christies in New York in May this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale auction, the work The Poetics of Love changed hands for USD 50,400.00 (€ 47,306.18) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert Motherwell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work At Five in the Afternoon in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 12,690,000.00 (€ 10,874,035.99).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Robert Motherwell konnte im Mai diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale wechselte die Arbeit The Poetics of Love für USD 50.400,00 (€ 47.306,18) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Robert Motherwell erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit At Five in the Afternoon im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 12.690.000,00 (€ 10.874.035,99).
