Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Six Plates, from Color Bands (6 works) by Sol LeWitt was sold in the Modern & Contemporary Prints & Multiples auction at Bonhams in Paris in October this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 10,240.00 (€ 9,689.63) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sol LeWitt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Wavy Brushstrokes in July 2015 with an auction result of GBP 449,000.00 (€ 636,531.19).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Six Plates, from Color Bands (6 works) von Sol LeWitt wurde im Oktober diesen Jahres in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary Prints & Multiples bei Bonhams in Paris versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 10.240,00 (€ 9.689,63) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Sol LeWitt erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Wavy Brushstrokes im Juli 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 449.000,00 (€ 636.531,19).
