Auction result well in line with expectations

It changed hands for a price of GBP 765.00 (€ 849.47) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Stanley William Hayter achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Spring in March 2016 with an auction result of USD 115,000.00 (€ 100,965.76).

Die Arbeit Witches' Sabbath von Stanley William Hayter kam im Oktober 2020 bei Bonhams in London zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 765,00 (€ 849,47) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 600,00 – 800,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Stanley William Hayter erzielen.
