Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Thomas Hart Benton could be acquired at Bonhams in London in October this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Prints & Multiples auction, the work Frankie and Johnnie, from the Missouri State Capitol Mural Series changed hands for USD 6,400.00 (€ 6,056.02) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Hart Benton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nashaquitsa in November last year with an auction result of USD 5,580,000.00 (€ 5,405,405.41).
