Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Untitled (evasion XII: what a game) by Franz Ackermann was auctioned at Christies in New York in September 2016, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 43,750.00 (€ 38,930.41). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Franz Ackermann achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work b2 barbeque with the duke in February 2006 with an auction result of GBP 299,200.00 (€ 440,056.08).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Untitled (evasion XII: what a game) von Franz Ackermann im September 2016 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 43.750,00 (€ 38.930,41) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Franz Ackermann erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit b2 barbeque with the duke im Februar 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 299.200,00 (€ 440.056,08).
