Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Ingie 1957 by James Brooks was sold in the Contemporary Curated featuring works from “In Its Own Light: Property from the Collection of Ed Cohen and Victoria Shaw” auction at Sothebys in New York in March 2017. The price achieved of USD 25,000.00 (€ 23,368.85) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Admittedly, works by James Brooks have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work M-51 in November 2018 with an auction result of USD 187,500.00 (€ 165,592.16).
