Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Alphabet (G. 126, U.L.A.E. 69) by Jasper Johns was auctioned at Phillips in London in June this year. The price achieved of GBP 10,160.00 (€ 11,824.49) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jasper Johns achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Small False Start in November last year with an auction result of USD 55,350,000.00 (€ 53,618,134.26).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Alphabet (G. 126, U.L.A.E. 69) von Jasper Johns kam im Juni diesen Jahres bei Phillips in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 10.160,00 (€ 11.824,49) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jasper Johns erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Small False Start im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 55.350.000,00 (€ 53.618.134,26).
