Auction result well in line with expectations
In May this year Bonhams held the auction Modern & Contemporary Prints & Multiples, which included the work Hom'mere (Chaosmos) (10 works) by Roberto Matta. The price achieved of USD 5,100.00 (€ 4,786.93) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Roberto Matta achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Le Pendu (The Hanged Man) in December 2011 with an auction result of EUR 1,800,750.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion Modern & Contemporary Prints & Multiples durch, in der auch die Arbeit Hom'mere (Chaosmos) (10 works) von Roberto Matta zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 5.100,00 (€ 4.786,93) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Roberto Matta erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Le Pendu (The Hanged Man) im Dezember 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 1.800.750,00.
