In June this year Phillips in London held the auction Evening & Day Editions, which included the work I Love Liberty (C. 192) by Roy Lichtenstein. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 57,150.00 (€ 66,512.76), 63% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Roy Lichtenstein achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nurse in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 95,365,000.00 (€ 90,290,664.65).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 63 % übertroffen
Im Juni diesen Jahres führte Phillips in London die Auktion Evening & Day Editions durch, in der auch die Arbeit I Love Liberty (C. 192) von Roy Lichtenstein zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 57.150,00 (€ 66.512,76) und damit 63% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Roy Lichtenstein erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nurse im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 95.365.000,00 (€ 90.290.664,65).
