This artwork by Sol LeWitt achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in March 2019. In the Contemporary Curated auction, the work A Red Circle Inside A Triangle And A Blue Circle Outside That Triangle sold for USD 50,000.00 (€ 44,531.53) - well above the upper estimate of USD 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sol LeWitt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Wavy Brushstrokes in July 2015 with an auction result of GBP 449,000.00 (€ 636,531.19).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Sol LeWitt erzielte im März 2019 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Curated wurde die Arbeit A Red Circle Inside A Triangle And A Blue Circle Outside That Triangle für USD 50.000,00 (€ 44.531,53) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 20.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Sol LeWitt erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Wavy Brushstrokes im Juli 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 449.000,00 (€ 636.531,19).
