The work Amorous by Yan Ping was worth HKD 1,820,000.00 (€ 174,112.84) to a buyer in November 2011. This price was achieved in the auction Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) at Christies in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 500,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Yan Ping; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Spring Flavour; & Rabbit sold at auction in May 2012 with the realized price of HKD 2,660,000.00 (€ 277,101.26).
