Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Marilyn (Announcement) (Not In F. & S.) by Andy Warhol was sold in the Prints auction at Sothebys in New York in April 2012. The price achieved of USD 8,125.00 (€ 6,141.81) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Andy Warhol achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Shot Sage Blue Marilyn in May last year with an auction result of USD 195,040,000.00 (€ 181,753,797.41).

Die Arbeit Marilyn (Announcement) (Not In F. & S.) von Andy Warhol wurde im April 2012 in der Auktion Prints bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 8.125,00 (€ 6.141,81) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Andy Warhol erzielen.
