Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2007 Phillips in New York held the auction Contemporary Art Part II, which included the work Saw by Anthony James. It changed hands for a price of USD 6,600.00 (€ 4,905.97) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Anthony James achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Great Rhombicosidodecahedron in March last year with an auction result of USD 302,400.00 (€ 272,604.35).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2007 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art Part II durch, in der auch die Arbeit Saw von Anthony James zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 6.600,00 (€ 4.905,97) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Anthony James erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Great Rhombicosidodecahedron im März letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 302.400,00 (€ 272.604,35).
