Auction result well in line with expectations
In October this year Phillips in New York held the auction Editions & Works on Paper, which included the work Wrapped Monument to Leonardo, Project for Piazza della Scala, Milan: two prints (S. 41-42) by Christo. It changed hands for a price of USD 889.00 (€ 841.22) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 600.00 – 900.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Christo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Umbrellas (Joint project for Japan and USA) in February 2021 with an auction result of EUR 1,706,500.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober diesen Jahres führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Editions & Works on Paper durch, in der auch die Arbeit Wrapped Monument to Leonardo, Project for Piazza della Scala, Milan: two prints (S. 41-42) von Christo zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 889,00 (€ 841,22) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 600,00 – 900,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Christo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Umbrellas (Joint project for Japan and USA) im Februar 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 1.706.500,00.
