Sold at the upper estimate price
The work Moses by Edward Kienholz was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in November 2017. The auction ended at the price of USD 60,000.00 (€ 50,428.64), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Edward Kienholz - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Future as an Afterthought, which sold at auction in May 2003 for USD 141,900.00 (€ 120,601.73).
