Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Flame Out for Picasso, from Hommage à Picasso (G. 65) by James Rosenquist was auctioned at Phillips in London in September this year. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 508.00 (€ 508.00). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Rosenquist achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Director in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 3,135,000.00 (€ 2,811,911.38).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Flame Out for Picasso, from Hommage à Picasso (G. 65) von James Rosenquist kam im September diesen Jahres bei Phillips in London zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 500,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 508,00 (€ 508,00) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von James Rosenquist erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Director im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.135.000,00 (€ 2.811.911,38).
