Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In October this year Phillips in New York held the auction Editions & Works on Paper, which included the work Flamingo Capsule (S. 1973.12, G. 66) by James Rosenquist. The »bidding war« ended at USD 6,096.00 (€ 5,768.36), 22% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Rosenquist achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Director in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 3,135,000.00 (€ 2,811,911.38).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Oktober diesen Jahres führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Editions & Works on Paper durch, in der auch die Arbeit Flamingo Capsule (S. 1973.12, G. 66) von James Rosenquist zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 6.096,00 (€ 5.768,36) und damit 22% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von James Rosenquist erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Director im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.135.000,00 (€ 2.811.911,38).
