Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work 2R + 13.14 (where R=Ryoanji); R2/2 (where R=Ryoanji); R3 (where R=Ryoanji); R2/3 (where R=Ryoanji); R2/1 (where R= Ryoanji); and (R3) (where R=Ryoanji) by John Cage was sold in the Editions & Works on Paper auction at Phillips in New York in April 2018. Here, the upper estimate of USD 15,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 16,250.00 (€ 13,458.67). Admittedly, works by John Cage have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The First Meeting of the Satie Society in March 2011 with an auction result of USD 116,500.00 (€ 82,140.59).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit 2R + 13.14 (where R=Ryoanji); R2/2 (where R=Ryoanji); R3 (where R=Ryoanji); R2/3 (where R=Ryoanji); R2/1 (where R= Ryoanji); and (R3) (where R=Ryoanji) von John Cage wurde im April 2018 in der Auktion Editions & Works on Paper bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 15.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 16.250,00 (€ 13.458,67) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Cage auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The First Meeting of the Satie Society im März 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 116.500,00 (€ 82.140,59).
