Auction result well in line with expectations
The work COMPANIONSHIP IN THE AGE OF LONELINESS by Kaws was sold in the Evening & Day Editions auction at Phillips in London in September this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,500.00 – 3,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,540.00 (€ 2,540.00) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kaws achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (Kimpsons #1) in October 2019 with an auction result of HKD 57,877,000.00 (€ 6,615,255.49).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit COMPANIONSHIP IN THE AGE OF LONELINESS von Kaws wurde im September diesen Jahres in der Auktion Evening & Day Editions bei Phillips in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.540,00 (€ 2.540,00) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Kaws erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (Kimpsons #1) im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 57.877.000,00 (€ 6.615.255,49).
