Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Niki de Saint Phalle could be acquired at Phillips in New York in October this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Editions & Works on Paper auction, the work Dancing Couple Vase changed hands for USD 7,620.00 (€ 7,210.45) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Niki de Saint Phalle achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nana Danseuse Noire (Grande Danseuse Negresse) - Circa 1968 in December 2015 with an auction result of EUR 961,500.00.
