This artwork by Philip Pearlstein achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in July 2008. In the Prints and Multiples auction, the work Nude in a Hammock sold for USD 2,125.00 (€ 1,363.14) - well above the upper estimate of USD 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Philip Pearlstein achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Model With Empire State Building in November 2010 with an auction result of USD 170,500.00 (€ 130,791.65).
