Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2011 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art Day Auction, which included the work Pink Sunset by Roy Lichtenstein. The price achieved of USD 116,500.00 (€ 86,597.78) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Roy Lichtenstein achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nurse in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 95,365,000.00 (€ 90,290,664.65).
