Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work On The Ganges by Akim Monet was auctioned at Sothebys in London in February 2014, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 4,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 2,250.00 (€ 2,729.79). Other works by Akim Monet have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in November 2006 by the work Cave Cathedral at USD 6,600.00 (€ 4,977.00).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit On The Ganges von Akim Monet im Februar 2014 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 4.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 2.250,00 (€ 2.729,79) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Akim Monet wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im November 2006 die Arbeit Cave Cathedral mit USD 6.600,00 (€ 4.977,00).
