Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Marilyn Monroe (From The Reversal Series) by Andy Warhol was sold in the Contemporary Art Day Auction auction at Sothebys in New York in May 2012. The price achieved of USD 134,500.00 (€ 108,783.57) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Andy Warhol achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Shot Sage Blue Marilyn in May last year with an auction result of USD 195,040,000.00 (€ 181,753,797.41).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 134.500,00 (€ 108.783,57) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben worden.
