Auction result misses estimated price range
In September this year a collector was able to acquire the work Double L by John Wesley for USD 12,600.00 (€ 11,904.76). This price was achieved in the auction Post-War to Present at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Wesley achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Plague in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 577,000.00 (€ 370,822.62).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im September diesen Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Double L von John Wesley für USD 12.600,00 (€ 11.904,76) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Post-War to Present bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Wesley erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Plague im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 577.000,00 (€ 370.822,62).
