Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Nocturne (Ou Le Flirt) (Merrill Chase 62) by Manuel Robbe was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in November 2015, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 1,200.00 – 1,800.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,000.00 (€ 946.79). Admittedly, works by Manuel Robbe have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Critics in July 2006 with an auction result of GBP 6,000.00 (€ 8,783.30).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Nocturne (Ou Le Flirt) (Merrill Chase 62) von Manuel Robbe im November 2015 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.200,00 – 1.800,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.000,00 (€ 946,79) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Manuel Robbe auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Critics im Juli 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.000,00 (€ 8.783,30).
