Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Huckleberry Finn Suite by Norman Rockwell was sold in the Modern & Contemporary Prints & Multiples auction at Bonhams in New York in November this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 3,000 - 4,000, the actual price achieved of USD 3,188 (€ 2,786) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Norman Rockwell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Saying Grace in December 2013 with an auction result of USD 46,085,000 (€ 33,445,823).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Huckleberry Finn Suite von Norman Rockwell wurde im November diesen Jahres in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary Prints & Multiples bei Bonhams in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000 – 4.000 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 3.188 (€ 2.786) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Norman Rockwell erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Saying Grace im Dezember 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 46.085.000 (€ 33.445.823).
