Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Revised Ark by Paul Thek was sold in the Post-War and Contemporary Art auction at Christies in New York in March 2018. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 8,750.00 (€ 7,102.27) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Paul Thek achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (five works on newspaper) in October 2018 with an auction result of EUR 175,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Revised Ark von Paul Thek wurde im März 2018 in der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 8.750,00 (€ 7.102,27) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Paul Thek erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (five works on newspaper) im Oktober 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 175.000,00.
