Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Roy Lichtenstein achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in New York in October this year. In the Editions & Works on Paper auction, the work Seascape, from Landscapes Series (G. 1252, C. 210) sold for USD 165,100.00 (€ 156,226.34) - well above the upper estimate of USD 70,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Roy Lichtenstein achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nurse in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 95,365,000.00 (€ 90,290,664.65).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Roy Lichtenstein erzielte im Oktober diesen Jahres bei Phillips in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Editions & Works on Paper wurde die Arbeit Seascape, from Landscapes Series (G. 1252, C. 210) für USD 165.100,00 (€ 156.226,34) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 70.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Roy Lichtenstein erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nurse im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 95.365.000,00 (€ 90.290.664,65).
