This artwork by Ruth Asawa achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Los Angeles in September last year. In the Prints & Multiples auction, the work Untitled (Flower) sold for USD 3,570.00 (€ 3,649.19) - well above the upper estimate of USD 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ruth Asawa achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (S.387, Hanging Three Separate Layers of Three-Lobed Forms) in November 2019 with an auction result of USD 4,095,000.00 (€ 3,716,308.19).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Ruth Asawa erzielte im September letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in Los Angeles einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Prints & Multiples wurde die Arbeit Untitled (Flower) für USD 3.570,00 (€ 3.649,19) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ruth Asawa erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (S.387, Hanging Three Separate Layers of Three-Lobed Forms) im November 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 4.095.000,00 (€ 3.716.308,19).
