In April this year Phillips in New York held the auction Editions & Works on Paper, which included the work Artist's Hand by Ai Weiwei. The »bidding war« ended at USD 4,826.00 (€ 4,371.38), 38% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ai Weiwei achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Circle of Animals / Zodiac Heads in June 2015 with an auction result of GBP 3,442,500.00 (€ 4,853,881.79).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 38 % übertroffen
Im April diesen Jahres führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Editions & Works on Paper durch, in der auch die Arbeit Artist's Hand von Ai Weiwei zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 4.826,00 (€ 4.371,38) und damit 38% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ai Weiwei erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Circle of Animals / Zodiac Heads im Juni 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.442.500,00 (€ 4.853.881,79).
