Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Leslie by Chuck Close was auctioned at Christies in New York in July 2014. It changed hands for a price of USD 5,625.00 (€ 4,200.90) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Chuck Close achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Gwynne in May 2004 with an auction result of USD 2,807,500.00 (€ 2,298,027.34).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Leslie von Chuck Close kam im Juli 2014 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 5.625,00 (€ 4.200,90) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Chuck Close erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Gwynne im Mai 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.807.500,00 (€ 2.298.027,34).
