Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Donald Sultan achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in New York in April this year. In the Editions & Works on Paper auction, the work Mimosas (R. p. 207) sold for USD 6,350.00 (€ 5,751.81) - well above the upper estimate of USD 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Donald Sultan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Battery May 5, 1986 in February 2019 with an auction result of USD 87,500.00 (€ 76,896.04).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Donald Sultan erzielte im April diesen Jahres bei Phillips in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Editions & Works on Paper wurde die Arbeit Mimosas (R. p. 207) für USD 6.350,00 (€ 5.751,81) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Donald Sultan erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Battery May 5, 1986 im Februar 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 87.500,00 (€ 76.896,04).
